3rd battalion, Ladakh Scouts regiment celebrated its silver jubilee at Chandimandir Cantonment

The unit has evolved into one of the finest mountain warfare specialised units of the Indian Army


Panchkula - 3rd battalion, Ladakh Scouts regiment also known as Zedang Sumpa, celebrated its silver jubilee at Chandimandir Cantonment with great resplendence and grandeur.

The event was graced by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya as the chief guest, who unveiled the silver jubilee trophy of the Battalion alongside Lt Gen MKS Katiyar, AVSM GOC-in-C Head Quarter Western Command.

 

The 3rd battalion, Ladakh Scouts originally raised as the Nubra Guards in 1948 the battalion came to its present form in the year 2000, since then the unit has evolved into one of the finest mountain warfare specialised units of the Indian Army. Over the past two and a half decades, the unit has showcased its prowess during various operations along the borders and in the hinterlands, serving as a crucial aid to civil authorities.

 

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya was warmly received by Col Ashish Mohanty, Commanding Officer 3rd battalion, Ladakh Scouts and Col Jasdeep Sandhu, Advisor, Civil Military Affairs, Western Command during the event. Army Commander Head Qurater Western Command commended the unit for its professionalism and extended best wishes for all its future endeavors.
